German-Ukrainian Partnership Initiative for HIV/AIDS Prevention (in German)
Німецько-українська партнерська ініціатива з питань подолання ВІЛ/СНІД

The German-Ukrainian Partnership Initiative for HIV/AIDS Prevention has been implemented by GTZ since 2008 under the Joint Statement on Cooperation in the Field of Health signed between the German Federal Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in 2007.

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, leading German institutions and Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) share their experience and know-how in fighting against HIV and AIDS with their Ukrainian partners. The gained experience is intended to give a sustainable impetus to the partners to develop and implement HIV prevention strategies and thus benefit the society as a whole. The main areas of work of the Partnership Initiative directions include HIV prevention, diagnosis and treatment, as well as the provision of social support, epidemiology and surveillance.

The synergies between the projects have led to long term and fruitful cooperations between the fields and regions in which the Partnership Initiative is active, supporting and encouraging the exchange among the Ukrainian partners.
